How Old is the Earth?
If we take the Bible to be right on what it said, Adam
and Eve lived on earth about 6,000 years ago. The only way to get the date of
about 6,000 years ago is to add the genealogies up in the Bible. The
Bible gives us genealogies to show that the Bible is historically
accurate. The question has now been how accurate are the genealogies
in the Bible? The Bible gives us no reason to believe that the
genealogies are not accurate. Some people have questions about the
genealogies, however these questions can be answered using the Bible.
This is a genealogy chart taken from “The New Defender's Study
Bible” by Dr. Henry M.
Morris. This is an example of how a person would add up the
genealogies in the Bible.

Many people try to claim that the Bible has
contradictions and mistakes. These are usually people that have not
been saved; or their just people that want to try to find errors in
the Bible. Thankfully the average saved, daily Bible reader can
answer the supposed contradictions. Long story short all the supposed
contradictions have been answered in volumes of books.
The common teaching in the public schools is that the
earth is 4.3 billion years old. However there is no scientific reason
to believe the earth is this old. The Bible says God created
everything in six (twenty-four hour) days about 6,000 years ago.
Either the Bible is right or the evolutionist teaching is right. The
two models do not fit together at all. There are many scientific
limiting factors for the age of the earth. These factors will be
address in other articles. The main point is, the Bible has the age
of the earth of about 6,000 years old.
